God truly blessed me when He allowed me the opportunity to paint. Since I have been traditionally trained, what I have learned easily applies to any art medium. My traditional training gave me the building blocks or foundations of art: accurate and proportional drawing, realistic values, thoughtful edges, carefully planned design, and meaningful color.
While painting, I focus mostly on the fundamentals rather than style and technique. If I concentrate on these, then whatever unique “style” or “technique” I have will come through on its own naturally. I believe it is mostly seen in the careful arrangements, colors, and the subject matter that I choose to convey my thoughts with.
I really enjoy sharing my perspective on beauty with my artwork. Whether it is a feeling I get when I hear a touching song, marvel over a God’s creation, or taste an exquisite delicacy, I want to pass on those experiences. My paintings have given me an opportunity to piece together stories in an almost Sherlock Holmes fashion. With the messages I create, I hope to always uplift and inspire in a godly way.
